Keith Snow, Jackie Bushman & Laura Grace Snow - Laura Grace Snow age 12 (pictured far right) from Goochland County Va. is a young lady that we can all draw inspiration from. Laura Grace is completely blind and has Juvenile Batten’s Disease(which is a degenerative and terminal condition). Laura’s father Keith Snow is an avid hunter and one of Laura’s biggest wishes was to go hunting and shoot a deer with her father. Due to Laura’s condition her father thought that this wish may never come true until he was watching BUCKMASTER’S Nation Show (Life Hunt for the Disabled) a year ago and applied for the event and Laura was one of 15 participants to be invited. The Buckmaster’s hunt took place in Alabama the second week of January 2013. Laura’s very first hunt of her life began around 4pm on 1/8/13. Out of a ground blind, she shot her first doe @ 100 yards w/a .243 rifle with minimal assistance from her father using adaptive equipment called the iScope (attaches to the rear of the gun scope w/ an iPhone) which allowed her father to sit directly behind her to assist in getting the crosshairs on the deer by using his thumb & index finger on the butt of the gun which Laura shouldered. She pulled the trigger on her father’s command @ 4:35pm and the doe dropped, but that wasn’t the pinnacle-25 minutes later an 8 pnt buck stepped out @ 100 yards and Laura repeated the process and it was recorded on the iScope. Laura’s father Keith is a close friend of mine and has taken many nice deer(mostly w a bow) but these 2 deer taken by his daughter are and will always be the most memorable. Despite Laura’s condition she is a true spirit….she has tremendous enthusiasm and is rarely w/out a smile…. Keith says that Jackie Bushman and all the other associates were very kind hearted and gracious with their time and helped many more dreams come true besides Laura’s on that 3 day hunt. Keith was also thoughtful enough to slip Jackie Bushman a copy of Season 3 of Star City Whitetails…… Way to go Laura & Keith!! We are all very happy for you..
